We met in DCU, where I was studying Journalism and Séamus was studying Economics, Politics and Law. Our mutual love of media led us to work in the student radio station, DCUfm, where we were both part of the news team, and the rest is history!
How did your love story begin?
Describe the proposal?
We visited London back in 2012, and during a boat trip of the Thames, we decided that we were hooked and would love to live there one day. In 2014, we moved over, and ended up there for just under 5 years. On my birthday in 2017, Séamus planned a lovely day for us, and one of the parts of it was a private boat trip on the Thames where our London adventure had began so many years ago. The boat stopped in front of Big Ben, and he proposed!
When planning your wedding, what drew you to Ballymagarvey Village?
As soon as we first visited Ballymagarvey Village, we just knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding. Anybody who has stepped in to their banquet hall will understand how special it is. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing!
What is your highlight from the wedding day?
The part between the ceremony and the meal where we had 5 minutes together just to soak it all in. You can see from the photos that we both looked so relaxed, it was brilliant!
How did the live illustrations add to your day?
Having Linda there on the day added so much. Our guests had a little token to take away, and our illustration is something that we will cherish forever.
Anything you would change or do differently?
I would love to do the whole day all over again, but I wouldn’t change a thing about it. It was the most wonderful day filled with laughter, love, food, dancing and singing!
